    Hey there,

Spent part of Saturday trying to make my own variation on a bushbuddy. Thought of you both.

Are you finding a much smaller number of Trail Angels? I wondered if it being so much younger than the other trails made that part of it dramatically harder.

    Safe travels.

Trail angels…you mean compared to the AT? I’d say there are just as many if not more in Montana, they just don’t know that they’re trail angels! What I mean to say is that there are tons of friendly people here willing to help out hikers, but they’re not setting out to purposely help hikers (coolers, fruit, snacks at road crossings, etc). Some don’t even know about the CDT. April and I are using an old Mountain Hardwear Approach Tent. It’s a bit heavy…but I couldn’t justify buying a new one when I had a perfectly functional tent like the Approach. The CDT is definitely beating me us up pretty good. not sure if it would have been any easier 8 years ago. Cross country travel can be rough. Best of luck with the bush buddy! Hard to beat the current model in terms of simplicity of design and quality of construction I’ll bet. Can’t wait to see what you make? Will it come out as good as the home brew?
